The DFCPUG was started in 2003 and membership has grown strong over the years. Currently the DFCPUG holds monthly meetings were Final Cut Pro users, of every skill level, participate in FCP related discussions and activities. We hold a raffle at most meetings, where participants can win free swag and other fun stuff. If you are a Final Cut Pro user, and are in the Denver Metro area, stop by for our next meeting.

There are no fees associated with joining the DFCPUG. We do, however, request your email address so that we may keep you informed per DFCPUG events and news. But all that is really required is that you show up with an interest to learn and explore the wicked world that is Apple’s Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, all things related thereto and other general DV topics of interest.
MEETING TIME
Meetings are generally held on the last Monday of the month at 6:00pm (mixer) 6:30pm (presentations begin). Be sure to check this site for updates as meeting dates change occasionally, the correct date will always be in the upper right hand corner of the site. Meetings will usually last until about 9:00pm depending on the topics.
MEETING LOCATION
Meeting are held at the Colorado Film School inside the screening room. The Colorado Film School is located at 9075 E Lowry Blvd, Denver, CO 80230.

Jerry Hofmann
Domain Expert Extraordinaire, Organizer and Gracious M.C.
During his 32 year professional show business career, Jerry has become an award winning theatrical actor, TV and film editor, writer, director and producer. He started his pro career as a theatrical producer, director and actor. He founded his first television and film production company in Los Angeles in 1978. During those years, he produced hundreds of TV Commercials, industrial films, as well as broadcast television shows. Currently, he is a partner in Bat-Mann Productions. Their clients range from product manufacturers to development of feature films, as well as industrial clients which include Merck Pharmaceuticals and the National Jewish Medical Research Center.
Jerry has produced in excess of 600 projects. He was a beta tester for Avid, helping them develop the world’s premier non-linear editing solutions.
For the past couple of years he has been teaching part-time at The Colorado Film and Video Instructional Studios, a joint facility shared by the Aurora Community College and the University of Colorado at Denver in the art and craft of production and post production in a laboratory with 20 Final Cut Pro bays.
He received his BA in Theater and a BA in Communications (emphasis on TV and Film Production) from the University of Denver.
Jared Picune

Growing up, Jared found he had a passion storytelling and movie making, and so he started his career right out of high school. By eighteen Jared was Avid certified and working as a freelance editor in the Denver production community.
In 2002 Jared cofounded Idea Spring Editing Inc., a small yet successful editorial facility located in Denver. There Jared worked with numerous clients on a variety of different projects, including the critically acclaimed Baby Einstein series for Disney.
In 2006, Jared started the Geeky Mac blog [www.geekymac.com]. A site devoted to so called “Geeky” Macintosh users. Here, Jared publishes articles and helpful information on a regular basis. Jared is also actively involved in the Denver Final Cut Pro Users Group, and manages their website and blog [www.dfcpug.com].
In late 2008 Jared took a position as Vice President of sales and marketing at CalDigit. There he is able to share is expertise in the post production field, helping many editors find the right storage solution.
Jared has found a niche somewhere between creativity and technology. By combining the two, he has been able to successfully run his company efficiently, providing clients with cutting edge technology. “The tool should never overwhelm the craft, in the end it is only the story that matters, not how it was made.”
