The Colorado Film School continues to offer Apple-certified professional training for Final Cut Pro and Color. The classes are taught on the CFS campus by Jerry Hofmann, author of Jerry Hofmann on Final Cut Pro 4. Financial Aid is not available for this course.

FCP 101 Introduction to Final Cut Pro X
The Colorado Film School offers an Apple Certified class in Final Cut Pro X. This is the 3-day certified course from Apple, taught by Jerry Hofmann.
Final Cut Pro X is a revolutionary video editing application that makes it possible for beginners and seasoned professionals to achieve stunning results. This five-day, hands-on course teaches students to perform basic editing functions while becoming familiar with the user interface. Start with basic video editing techniques and work all the way through Final Cut Pro’s powerful advanced features. Students work with dramatic real-world media to learn the practical techniques used daily in editing projects.
This course is based on the FCP 101: Introduction to Final Cut Pro X course. However, the lessons are covered in three days, providing more comprehensive coverage of the material.

This class is designed for anyone looking to edit professional-quality video with Final Cut Pro X and who prefers hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore its functionality.

Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:

Organizing Clips in an Event

Building a Rough Cut

Preparing a Project for Exporting and Sharing, Detecting Audio Peaks, Adjusting Video Levels for Broadcast, Exporting Movie File, Publishing a Project to Apple Devices, Publishing a Project to Video Sharing Sites, Exporting an Image from your Project, Exporting for Blue-Ray Disc, DVD, or Disk Image.
Students take an end user exam to earn Apple Certified Pro, Final Cut Pro X Level One status.
During his 33-year professional show business career, Jerry Hofmann has become an award winning theatrical actor, TV and film editor, writer, director and producer. Over the years, he has produced hundreds of TV commercials, and industrial films for Fortune 500 companies, Hollywood studios and advertising agencies. He currently owns and operates JLH Productions in Aurora, Colorado.
He is a team leader in the Final Cut Pro forum at Creative COW, and is the leading contributor to Apple Computer’s own discussion group for Final Cut Pro. He is an Apple Professional Applications Certified Instructor. Jerry helped to found the Denver Final Cut Pro user’s group, and is in demand for teaching and speaking engagements nationwide.
New Riders Publishing published Jerry’s recent book on editing, Jerry Hofmann on Final Cut Pro 4.
