Final Cut Pro X is here! This workshop will cover basic editing skills and get students familiar with the newest version of Final Cut. Low student to teacher ratios will ensure that students receive the support they need to acquire solid editing skills. The focus will be on learning the interface, basic tools, file management and editing tips. Basic computer literacy skills are a prerequisite. Rebuilt from the ground up to meet the needs of today’s creative editors, Final Cut Pro X features a new, dynamic editing interface with increased speed and efficiency. Upon completion of this course, students will have a thorough introduction to this newest version as well as hands-on experience with basic editing best practices.

Intro to 3D Animation Using Blender
Learning how to do 3-D animation has never been easier! In this class, you’ll learn the basics and more of 3-D animation using Blender, the free open source 3D content creation suite.
The Intro to 3D Animation class exposes students to Animation Theory and the basic uses of Blender, a free 3D Animation software. Students will learn about the key areas of 3D Animation, including modeling, animating, texturing, lighting and rendering. This hands-on class will include both lecture and demos from the instructors, accompanied by students working on their own computer stations, creating their own animations. Intro to 3D Animation is intended for beginning users, but students must have basic Mac skills/experience. Upon completion of this class, students will be able to create their own 3D animations, and continue using Blender on their own.

Intro to Final Cut Pro 7
The Final Cut Pro Workshop will cover basic editing skills and Final Cut Pro systems available at DOM. With a maximum of 2 students to every instructor and system, students will receive intimate hands-on training.
Focus will be on learning the interface, basic tools, file management and editing tips. Basic computer literacy skills are a prerequisite. Upon completion of the class, students will be certified to use DOM’s Final Cut Pro edit suites. Students who opt to become DOM members will be certified to reserve and use DOM’s edit suites free of charge for a year. Included with your class is a free 4-hour editing session on DOM’s systems for you to practice the editing skills you’ve learned in the workshop.
